Sunday=Homework All Day

This morning, I made bacon for breakfast for Drew and I, had some coffee, got a shower, watched one episode of Reign. Then I and sat down at the computer and started to get to work on my revisions for my paper. I felt pretty confident. Sure there were some areas that I could expand, and minor punctuation fixes, but other than that I feel confident. I am ready to see my final grade and go to England!
After my paper corrections, I saved them and moved on to the next assignment which was my two home work assignments for Methodology, they were easy. Questions like find the answer in the article where this happened, or that. No math, and no formulas. I like easy.  After I finished the homework assignments, I e-mailed the professor and asked her when we would know the grade that we received on our paper. She said, she was working on them now, but won’t be able to release them until Dr. Lane gets back to her about a question she had regarding grading. She did also say, that I would not be disappointed.
After I finished the homework for methodology, I completed my oral presentation prep for Higher Education Administration. This is the same class, that I have been revising my paper for. I feel pretty confident about it. Me and someone else are the last people to give our presentations. I am not all that nervous. Public speaking is easy for me. It is just the time limit I am concerned about.
When I finished up for the day, it was around 4:30pm. Drew finished the laundry and started dinner. He is so helpful and is there for me 100%. After dinner, we watched the Office, and just relaxed the rest of the night. I got an e-mail from Dr. Q saying the grades for the paper are posted. I logged on and I received a 20/20! I got 100% on paper! I was so happy! I am ready to take on the week.

Long Painful Weekend

Even though, I had shingles we still had to dog sit for my parents. On Saturday, I cancelled my Dr. Bailey appointment, I just wanted to lay low. When we woke up around 10am, we made breakfast and took it easy. I wanted to get out for a little bit today, and go to the Hop House for dinner like we planned, but I was in pain. I did some laundry, and we watched a little of the Pitt game, but it was hard, because every so often the dogs needed to go out. I was getting frustrated with Drew during the Pitt game. He wasn’t really helping as much as he said he would. I am a control freak, but I was hurting. I sort of knew this was going to be the case, but the dogs really don’t respond to him and listen to him quite like they do me, and my dad. I think they can sense that he isn’t too crazy about them.
After we got ready, we went to the mall and put a payment down on my ring. Then, we went to Penney’s and he bought some button ups, and then we went back to my parents. It was almost a little too much for me. I needed to rest some more before going to dinner.
When we got home, we took the dogs out, hung out with them, and fed them. Then we got ready to go to the Hop House for dinner. I am not sure if it was just my subconscious but my stomach was starting to itch. I was hoping the shingles weren’t’ spreading. The enter time we were at dinner, I was conscious of the itch and a little bit of pain in my groin. I couldn’t wait for this to be over with, but it could be so much worse. It was the first time in a long time that I sat at a bar and sipped pop. I missed the taste of beer.
After dinner, we went home to the dogs and let them out one more time, and then I laid on the couch with them and we watched Entourage. I had to be conscious of the dogs laying on me, if they walked on me, it hurt, but once they got comfortable and we were laying down it was okay. Drew got up to move them, he can be a little rough when he is frustrated. I told him it was okay. I love my dogs, but tomorrow we were going home I couldn’t wait.
Today, we got all packed up in the morning, and he packed up our cars, and I double checked the house. I was glad to be going home. I just wanted to be in my house. I fed the dogs breakfast, and took the dogs out before we left. Then we were on our way home.
When we got home, he brought the stuff from the cars into the house, and I carried it up stairs. I took the dirty laundry downstairs and put a load in, so much for doing laundry at my parents, when I still had laundry to do at home. I wasn’t in so much pain today, but it was still there, and the bumps were turning into blisters and it was just a matter of them to dry up and heal.
After we brought everything in, I took a shower and then laid on the couch. I had a pair of Drew’s old basket ball shorts on, they were loose and comfortable. I watched Outlander, while he went to the gym. I couldn’t wait to get back to the gym too. I missed it. These shingles were really knocking me on my ass. After Outlander, I fell asleep a little, then I got a call from Drew. He said, that his parents were coming over they had food for us, but he didn’t know what time they were coming over. I said, okay I just want to be decent when they arrive. He understood.  I wasn’t decent.
Around 3pm, I went upstairs, to get a shower. I wanted to do my hair and my make up and look cute. I put on leggings and a Steelers shirt. I turned the game on and waited for his parents to come over. When Drew came home with the groceries, I helped him put them away. He said, “Babe, you look beautiful.” I said, “Thank you, I was tired of looking like a slob.” He said, “You have shingles baby.” I said, “I know, but I want to look cute and put together for you.” He smiled, and said, “You always look cute, Bub.” He was so sweet and does take such good care of me, even though I get frustrated with him.
When we were putting away groceries, he said that he wanted to get me flowers, but he didn’t have enough hands to carry everything. I smiled and said, that was so sweet baby, and thank you for the thought. I really am so lucky to have him.
While we waited for his parents to arrive, we watched the Steelers game, until we heard our doorbell ring. I got up and answered the door. His Dad came in with his hands full of things for us. He asked how I was feeling? I said, “better, but still some pain.” He said, “When my daughter-in-law hurts, I hurt.” I smiled. He told us that he brought a roast, a whole rotisserie chicken, two containers of a shrimp dip he made, guacamole, and chips. I felt so touched. It was so nice of them. I put the roast in the oven, and we visited with them for awhile.
Then when they left, it was just us. We knew the roast was going to take awhile, so we just hung out until dinner was ready. It was a long weekend, but we got through it together. I was semi ready for another week ahead.

This morning I had a dentist appointment, and I was so glad that I got to sleep in a little bit longer. The past couple nights I have been sleeping with my Fitbit on and setting the silent alarm. It will vibrate, until I wake up. I love it. I like it so much better than the alarm on my phone. I think it is a nicer way to wake up, instead of just a crazy alarm sound.
After I got a shower and got dressed. I packed up my stuff, and grabbed some pizza out of the fridge. I was a little apprehensive about my Dentist appointment this morning, and then having to go to work after. I was hoping maybe the day would fly by. When I left teh house, I called my mom and talked to her for a bit. When I arrived to the Dentist, I was 10 mins early. I put on a little make up, once I parked the car, then I walked inside.
After about 5 mins, they called me back. I sat in the chair, and she put a bib on me. Then I told her about my enamel and how it chipped a little. It is somewhat noticeable and perhaps they could put some bonding on, like my other dentist used to do. He would do without question. She said, that I would have to make another appointment for that. I miss old dentist so much. He never submitted it, he just did it. I guess we were like family to him.
After my cleaning, the Dentist came in and he checked my mouth and told me that everything looks good, and that he could put some bonding in there during my next appointment. He also wanted me to schedule a consult for MTM to see if I am a candidate for that. MTM is a cheaper solution to 6 month smiles. I thought about 6 month smiles, but it is so much money, and I just feel like braces are not an option for me. My teeth are somewhat straight. I just have a little crowding in the front on the bottom. I think this Dentist wishes I could lay golden egg for him.
After my appointment, I went to Peace Love and Little Donuts. I bought 3 donuts; flinstone, chocolate chip one, and a razzle dazzle. I knew Drew would probably want the Chocolate Chip one, but he wanted the Pitt Panther. I guess the only Pitt Panther they knew about was a cake donut with blue and gold sprinkles. I thought it was something to do with chocolate, so I knew Drew probably wouldn’t want it (I ended up getting the wrong one. He wanted the sprinkles, which was surprising.) I also purchased a caramel latte with fat free milk. I haven’t had my coffee yet.
Once I got to the bus stop in Robinson, I ate my razzle dazzle donut, and then asked Drew when the next bus was coming, because the app never works for me. He says that one just drove by while I was on my way, and it might be better to drive in, so I went back to the car and got gas in Greentree. He said, if we are on the way home and get stuck in traffic, it might be cutting it pretty close on only a quarter tank. I texted Phyllis and told her I was driving in.
After I got on the parkway, I was bumper to bumper before the tunnels, but smooth sailing to Oakland. I parked in Sennott Square, and then walked into my building. Drew was going to come to my building to get his donut that I got for him at lunch time. Phyllis saw my box of donuts and I asked if she wanted one. She said, “Yea who wouldn’t pass up donuts?!” I said, “True.” I grabbed the box and showed her the two that I had in there. She picked the chocolate one. I knew it!
When I got back to my office, I told Drew. He said, he was okay it didn’t matter. I said I figured since she let me go to the appointment and I was kind of late getting back here. He understood. I am glad he is so chill. When he came by, I gave him the donut and then we talked for a bit. I introduced him to Linda. It was nice.
When he left, I was hoping the day would fly by. I heated up my pizza and ate it, now I am not sure what is going on. I am ready for the day to be over. It is not all that eventful around here yet. I am ready to go home. Tonight, we are going to the cafe with his parents for the Preseason Steelers’ Game. I am so excited to just drink some beer and chill.

Rainy Day

This morning, we were slow to get up. It was going to be a rainy day today, so we just planned to lay low. I made pancakes for breakfast, and we watched some more all in the family. We didn’t really have anything planned today. We decided to get out for a bit, so we went to Target to buy two lamps, and get some more ideas to help improve our little town home. We seem to agree on the same things, when it comes to how we want to decorate.

After Target we went to the mall, we put a payment on the ring that I want for my right hand. I am so spoiled. I want diamonds on both hands. I can’t wait to get it. Rudy, the jeweler inspected my wedding rings, and he said, I needed a rhodium dip. I just got one done before we got married, but I guess you have to do it every couple years, so the white gold rings, don’t turn yellow. He asked us to drop it off on Tuesday, before we got a July 4th cookout. We will add that to our to-do list.

After we left the jewelry store, we stopped at this new store called the Home Collection. Their store is in the same space as Abercrombie and Fitch. We decided to check it out. The mall needed a home sore. When we walked in, you could still smell the Fierce cologne. The store was nice. A lot of high end furniture. The decor was really girly. I liked it, but it still looked like Abercrombie.

After the mall, we went to Chik-fil-a. I never saw that place so busy before. We were lucky to get a booth, so I grabbed us a seat and Drew ordered our food. They brought it to you, when it was ready, so you didn’t have stand at the counter and wait for it. After we finished eating, we left and went home. I think we had enough errands today. I could go to Walmart later on in the week. We could grocery shop tomorrow, as well.

When we got home, we laid around and watched television. We decided to take an hour nap. When we woke up, we got ready to go to dinner. We were going to the Industry Pub to celebrate my new position. I put on a dress, and some heels for dinner. It felt good to get all dressed up.

When we arrived at the Industry Pub, we were seated by the windows, and it seemed to be like the old people section. We felt so old. We wanted to be where the bar was, so we asked to move, and they were happy to accommodate us. They moved us to a high top table, by the bar. Now we felt like we were part of the party. Drew started out with a smoked whiskey, and he congratulated me on my position. I had a Magic Hat #9. I had two Magic Hats. Drew had a magic hat, as well, then a crown reserve, and lastly a Yuengling. We were there to celebrate. After two magic hats, I knew I had enough. For an appetizer we split this huge pretzel.

We took some home with us, and for dinner I had a chicken salad and he had a sandwich with fries. We took most of dinner home.

When we got home, we watched Wonder Woman. It was so good. It was the ultimate Girl Power movie. I was sad when her love interest died. Before we sat down to watch it, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not. I am weird about Super hero movies, but this one was awesome! I loved it. She was so sassy and feisty. She was a bit naive at first thinking if she defeated the God of War, Ares, then she would defeat all evil in the world and there would be no war. She soon learned, that it was choice inside all humans, whether or not to be good or evil. One cannot destroy all the evil in the world. I loved it. I just loved it. It was going to take me forever to fall asleep. I was so pumped. Wonder Woman had me so excited.

First Lazy Pool Day of the Summer

This morning we got up and got ready to go to the pool. We got there around 11am. The pool didn’t open until 11:30AM. We stood in line for a half hour, and it was hot. We finally got into the pool, and got our spots. Drew went to go to the bathroom, and I sat on the towel and put on some sunscreen. I was nervous about the sun, but happy to be doing nothing, but laying by the pool for a few hours. I did talk to Drew about what his mom said, and he said, that he supported me in whatever I said, to her and said that there is good and bad in every faith, especially those assholes at Victory Christian and ACA. I felt so special. I was happy that he was by my side.
Drew and I stayed at the pool until 2pm, then we went to the grocery store. We had to pick up somethings for dinner tonight, and for the week. I was so excited to start at Pitt. I had to get salads for lunch, as well. We ran into his parents at the grocery store. They seemed tired, and his dad was the only one that really said hi to us. We figured we weren’t getting any gift certificates today.
When we got home, Drew fired up the grill. I got a shower, and started some laundry. When I was done, I sat outside with him and hung with him while he grilled. We had hamburgers, and half of some steakabobs for dinner. I am so ready for the week ahead. Bring it on Pitt!
