Hair Appt/Dead Pool 2

This morning, I got up around 7:15am and got a shower. I got dressed and went downstairs. I made some coffee and ate some cereal. My mom got up and had some coffee with me. My dad was already downstairs in the living room sitting in his chair with the dogs. Things were already back to normal. I missed my husband. I am glad I get to see him today.
When I arrived to the salon, Kim was there and she was the only on there. It is always nice, when she is the only one there, and not the other ladies. I can’t stand the drama that this place produces. I told Kim I wanted to do the same thing with my hair, darker at the roots and light at the ends. I love the dark rooty look. When she put my color on, she asked all about the trip to Europe, and what it was like. We talked about the protesters and all that is happening in Pittsburgh. She kind of feels the same way I do.
After she dried my hair and styled it, I was out the door. I drove home. When I walked in, I had another cup of coffee and then started packing up my stuff. It was going to rain soon, and I wanted to get the car packed up before the rain hit, but that was going to happen.
My dad helped me load up my car, in between breaks in the rain. I could already feel it was going to be an off day. Drew was going to the chiropractor and was home by the time I walked in the door. When I walked into our house, he had just finished vacuuming and mostly everything was in it’s place. I was so glad to be home. Drew gave me the biggest hug and kiss. He missed me so much. It was nice to kind of step back and miss each other for a bit. It reminded me of when were dating, only seeing each other on the weekends.
After we brought my stuff inside, I made us avocado egg wraps with bacon. It is my new specialty. The weather was too terrible to go to the pool, so we just did house work and cleaned all day.
After breakfast, I went to Old Navy for the $1 fip flop sale.  I ended up leaving my phone in the car by accident (I swear). They were having a huge summer sale. I did buy 6 pairs of flip flips, 2 pair of comfy beach pants (one pair is green and the other is a blue and white stripe), a top, and a pair of pj pants. I know I was only supposed to buy flip flops, but I hope this was okay.
When I got home, he was getting ready to go to the store. I told him how much I spent at Old Navy and he was okay with it, but that was it for awhile. I understood. I only spent $68.00. I asked if he wanted me to go to the store with him. He said, if I wanted to, but I didn’t have to. I put my old navy bag in the house, and then got in the car with him. I hadn’t seen him in awhile, and was looking forward to getting out, even if it was to the store. I didn’t want to be inside all day.
After the grocery store, we went home and unloaded the groceries and then we went to the mall. He wanted to stop in at LensCrafters to inquire about glasses. He wants a new pair of Sunglasses and eliminate his Ray Bans. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. I am so used to his Raybans. He tried on Oakley’s and Raybans. He wants something different, but I only like a few of them. I am a sucker for the classic black frame and black lens sunglasses look. Something simple and chic is what I like.
After lens crafters, we went to Cadillac ranch for a drink. He dropped me off at the front. I took a seat at the bar. I was going to sit outside, but I opted for inside instead. The bartender approached me and smiled. I smiled back, just trying to be friendly. I said, “Don’t worry I am not going to drink by myself.” he said, “I am not judging” and laughed a little.  I said, “Mama said, you never sit at a bar by yourself and drink.” He laughed again and asked me what he can get me? I smiled and said, “Vodka tonic, please.” he said, “what kind of vodka.” I said, “Anything but smirnoff.” He laughed. I said, “Smirnoff and sunny D have terrible memories for me.” He laughed and so did another bartender, and she said, “Girl it was anything peach for me. I can’t drink anything peach to this day.” I laughed. He looked at me and said, “Goose? Stoli?” I said, “Goose, please.” He set the drink on the counter and I said, “Thank you, Sir.” He smiled and said, “Don’t call me Sir. You can call me Zach.” I smiled and said, “Thanks, Zach.”
Finally Drew walked in and took a seat next to me. I said, “Hey babe, meet Zach our bartender.” He looked up at Zach and said, “Hey man.” He said, “Hey, what can I get you?” Drew said, “Crown on the rocks please.” There we were drinking together at a bar. Something we hadn’t done in so long. We told Zach we were going to see Dead Pool 2. He said, “You will love it. It is better than the first.” We were pretty excited to see it.
After our drink, we cashed out, said bye to Zach, and headed to the movie theater. It wasn’t all that packed. We have been prebuying our tickets lately with the reserve seating, so after we got our popcorn and drink, we walked up to the usher stand and he scanned our tickets.
On our way to the theater room, I passed the Halloween movie poster. I was so excited for that movie to come out. I wanted to take a selfie with the poster, perhaps on the way out, when we leave. We walked into the theater room, and found our seats and got settled.
After the movie started, a random strange couple took a seat next to us, but they turned out to be in the wrong seat. Theresa my friend, who works at Cinemark told them they were in the wrong seat and had to move. Their seats were in the very front row in, in row A, not row D. When the couple left, another couple took their seats next to us. The movie was alright, sure it had it’s funny parts, but I liked the first one better. The best is the opening credits. They aren’t your traditional opening credits. Typically opening  credits read “Executive Producer:: then the persona’s name.” Well in Dead Pool 2 they read, “Executive Producer: Who the hell cares?” etc.
After the movie, I did get my selfie with the Michael Myers poster:

New Washer and Spring Cleaning

We were up at 6am. Supposedly the delivery people said we are the second delivery today. I got shower, got dressed, and made some coffee and watched Reign, while Drew was getting ready.
When the delivery people showed up, Drew went outside to direct them to our place. One of the delivery men came inside with Drew and then they went downstairs to the basement. The delivery man had to get an idea of how the house was set up, so when they brought the new washer in, they hooked it up and got it ready to go. The old washer, when they brought it up, the hose came loose and water dripped on our light beige carpet. I just gave Drew a look. He knew I was pissed. The guys apologized. When they left, Drew and I went to Walmart and picked up some carpet stain remover.
When we got home, Drew sprayed the carpet and then he ran the carpet cleaner machine that we borrowed from my parents’ awhile ago. It was going to be a day of cleaning. I was so out of it, from getting up early.
In the afternoon, Drew left to go to the gym, I laid on the couch and took a nap. When I woke up it was 4:30pm, and he was on his way to pick me up, so we could go grocery shopping. When we came home,  he ran the vacuum over the dry carpet and I made dinner. It was a long day.
After dinner we watched the movie, the Choice. It is originally a novel by Nicholas Sparks. Tom Welling is in the movie! I love Tom Welling. The movie was so good.  After I watch any movie by Nicholas Sparks it makes me want to live in the Carolina’s preferably South Carolina. I just love everything about his books and it brings back such great memories of when I used to read them, as a teenager.

Anthony’s Christmas Party

This morning, we had a chiro appointment. We both needed it, but we weren’t looking forward to going, but it was going to feel so good after. When we arrived, we saw his dad in the waiting room. His mom was getting adjusted. It is always good to see them.
When we went back to get adjusted, he adjusted me first, while Drew was on the traction table. I was so out of place. My back was really ugly he said, and my neck was tight too. He said, it has been too long. I said, “Yeah we are so busy, it is hard to commit to every other week.” He really didn’t say much, but we really don’t have the availability or the affordability to go. We didn’t meet our deductible yet.
After the chiropractor, we went grocery shopping at Giant Eagle. As soon as we walked in the door, there are these teddy bears that are so life size just all put together in a pile. I told Drew. I want to jump in there so badly. He said, “Do it.” I said, “here will you take a video?” I waited until no one was around, then I looked at the camera and said, “my name is Danielle. We are at the Moon, Giant Eagle and this is the teddy bear dive.” I wanted it to be like the movie/television show jackass. It was so fun and so funny. Thankfully, we didn’t get kicked out. Our friend Mike, who works at Giant Eagle, saw our video and laughed. He said, his manager did the same thing.”
After grocery shopping, we went home and did some laundry, and cleaning. We took a nap. The adjustment just wore us out.  When we woke up, we got ready to go to Anthony’s Christmas party. I love Anthony’s Christmas party it is always a good time.
When we arrived at Anthony’s, we helped him set up the food, and get everything ready. Ray was there already and so was Dylan. Rebecca and Shelley showed up, and we played games, and then Anthony’s mom and her new husband showed up. We all played this game with one giant present and dice. It was so funny. Drew ended up winning the gift. It was a pair of socks, that won’t fit him anyways, so they are mine.
After the game, we decided to leave. They said, it was snowing pretty bad outside, and the roads were getting bad. When we left Anthony’s, there was some snow on the ground, and on the roads. University was clear, but the side roads were not, of course. When we parked our car, I was happy to be home safe. We walked up to the front porch and Andrew took my face and kissed me in the snow. It was so romantic. 🙂 When we got inside, I got changed, and we watched an episode of The Crown, then it was time for bed.

Aunt Tootsie’s 90th

Today is Aunt Tootsie’s 90th Birthday party. Uncle Steve and Maryann asked if we could go pick her up and bring her to the restaurant. They need to be there early to decorate. We didn’t mind.
When we arrived to pick her up she seemed happy and excited for her party. I was glad to see that.
When we got to the restaurant, Uncle Steve and Maryann were in the pack banquet room. We ha the room to ourselves and there was this big table, the menus had Aunt Tootsie’s picture on it. It was so cute how they had it set up. I was so happy for her.
Before the party got started, I FaceTimed Emily her grand daughter, so she could see her and she could wish her a happy birthday.  It made Aunt Tootsie light up. We passed the phone around so she could see everyone and they could see Riggs and Finn. It was nice.
Dinner was yummy. We could pick from Marinated Sirloin, Parmesan crusted chicken, or Salmon. Drew and I both had the sirloin it was a good choice.
Everyone took pictures. Brian and Melissa were there with their children. Julie was there as well with Sophia and Stella. Megan arrived too from Erie. She was going to stay the night in Pittsburgh and go out with her friends. It was good to see them all.
When we left it was about 8pm. Drew and I had some errands to run and we wanted to grocery shop before we went home, as well. We said goodbye to everyone. Drew takes forever to say goodbye.
When we left Wexford, we went to the mall and got my birthday ring, then we went to target and picked up some make up for my costume, then to market district to get some groceries for the week.
When we got home, we watched an episode of Entourage, but I ended up falling asleep. I was so tired.

Nose Piercing

This morning, we took it easy and relaxed. We took our time getting ready.  We went to the chiropractor for a 9am appointment. He said, he wants to see me next weekend. My neck is really out of place, great.
Around 11:30am, I was down in the basement doing laundry, and Andrew was out taking the trash. My parents came over. My mom called out, “Dan it is us. We are here.” I said, “I am in the basement.” She said, “the door was open, so we just came in.”  I went upstairs and said, “that’s okay, I was doing laundry.” she said, “No problem. We saw Drew outside.” He came inside at this point and handed me an envelope from Pitt’s Childcare Center. I forgot I talked with them this week. He asked if, he could just put it upstairs. I said, “yes, please.” He went upstairs, with the mail and then came back down.
When it was time to leave, we all went in Drew’s car to Up in Arms, which is a Tattoo shop. As part of my 30th birthday present, I was getting my nose pierced again. I was so excited. I don’t know don’t ask me why, but I love the thrill of a needle. It is an adrenaline rush.
When we arrived at the tattoo shop, I told the woman I was here for a nose piercing. She said, come on back. She told the piercer what I was here for, and he came back into the room. They had me sit on this table, and fill out some forms on his ipad. I told him I had it pierced before and I would like it done in the same hole, as the previous one. Drew came back to the room to watch.
After I was done filling out the forms, he wiped my nose down with an alcohol wipe, and marked the spot where he was going to pierce me, and had me lay down. Then he put his surgical mask on, and washed his hands, and put some gloves on, and then he took the needle. I closed my eyes, and he said, “alright take a deep breath for me.” I felt the needle go in, and out. He then put the nose stud in my nose. There was a bunch of pressure, no pain, just pressure. It made my eyes water. It was normal. After he put the stud in, he had to tighten it inside my nose. He put his finger inside of my nose in order to tighten it. It was sensitive, but it was back! I was so excited.
When we left the tattoo shop, we went to Eat n Park for breakfast/lunch. My parents loved my nose stud. I am so glad to have it back in. I love it. I was wondering what work was going to say, but I didn’t think they were going to say anything really, or even notice, because it is a University, and they are pretty laid back about this stuff.
After lunch, we went back to our house, and my parents got in their car to go let the dogs out, and feed them. They were coming back over for the Pitt game later. Andrew and I vacuumed and finished laundry. It was nice to have some alone time. We also, went to the store to pick up the ingredients for Buffalo Chicken Dip. My dad requested it. We also had spinach dip left over from the Sociology welcoming event that we had at work.
When we got back home, I made the dip, but waited to put it in the oven until closer to them arriving. They got there during the last half of the 1st quarter. Pitt didn’t look so good. This was a huge game. If they were going to lose, I knew Drew was going to be in a bad mood. Well Pitt did lose, but it was nice to have my family over for the game.
After my parents left, we got the house back to normal, and then went to Home Depot to order our sliding glass door and skylights. Then we went to Giant Eagle: Market District and did some grocery shopping for the week, and to drop our dry cleaning off. Drew didn’t seem in that good of a mood. I wonder if we were both tired.

Fall Cleaning

This morning, we brought up our fall clothes from the garage, Halloween/fall decorations from the garage. We went through all our clothes, and got rid of 4 garbage bags full of clothes! It was soul cleansing. We did laundry, cleaned the bathroom, and the kitchen. We watched the Pitt game and they won by a hair.
After we cleaned and decorated for Fall we got showered, then went to the Dollar Store to pick up wipes, and then to Home Depot to price windows and a sliding glass door, then we went to Kirkland’s and got the big pumpkin with an “H” on it. I wanted one of everything in that store!
Then we went to dinner at Ya Fei, a Chinese restaurant in the Robinson Town Center. We always have a good experience there. This one not so much. The guy had a bit of attitude and wasn’t all that funny, but the food was good. We took most of it home. We had so much food back home to eat.
After dinner, we went grocery shopping, and then went home to relax for the rest of the evening. We were so tired, and a bit sore from all that we did earlier.

Tricia’s Baby Shower

This morning I got up around 8:00am. Drew was going to make me breakfast, before I left to go to the shower. I still had to stop and get tissue paper. I was slow moving, getting ready for the shower. I was happy for Tricia, but I just wanted to chill all day.
When I arrived at the venue, it was out in Beaver County like New Brighton, PA. I didn’t think it was that far of a drive, from where we live. I arrived like 15 mins early. I hesitated going in, so early but I wanted to get a good seat and chit chat with Tricia.
When I walked in, I gave her a big hug and asked to touch her belly. She looks so cute. You can’t even tell she is pregnant from behind, but when she turns around she is all belly.  I put my gifts on the table, and said Hi to her sister, and I got hold Frankie. Frankie is Tricia’s neice. She is 1, so adorable and still so chunky. She was fascinated by the beads on my necklace, and kept putting them in her mouth. I didn’t care.
Lunch was so good. It was a chicken or steak salad. They went around and asked us what dressing we wanted on our salad. I almost ate the whole thing. Tricia sat next to me, and on the other side of me was Ben’s Grandma. Across from Tricia and I was Ben’s mom. I was glad Tricia sat next to me. I really didn’t know too many people there. Some people looked familiar from her wedding and her bridal shower.
As Tricia opened the gifts, I was helping to organize them. As I watched her open her gifts, I couldn’t help but wonder was I next? Was I next to have a baby, and a baby shower? Tricia and Ben got married two months before we did. Her shower was before mine, and I won a prize at the shower, but am I next? I have mixed feelings good and bad. I feel as though I would be ready, but it’s a huge step in life to have children. I just want everything to line up, just so. I am looking forward to it though.
After I left the baby shower, I went to meet Drew at Grandma’s. I hadn’t seen her since Stephanie and Mike’s wedding. She was so happy to have Drew there. I know we need to see her more. We hung out with her for a bit, and caught up on our gossip. Then, we went back to our house. We did some laundry, and then went grocery shopping. I had to figure out what we were going to make for dinner. I was still pretty full from lunch. We decided on stuffed peppers.
When we got home, I started making the stuffed peppers, preheated the oven, and then made tomato caprese with a spinach salad. We were going to eat so well tonight. That evening, we just relaxed and watched some television until it was time to go to bed.
