This morning, I had to get up at 4am and get a shower. I had to meet Chris in Burgettstown at 5:45am. I left my house at 5:00am. When I arrived to the location, I wasn’t sure where to park, so he called me as he was coming up the gravel road behind me. He told me to park my car, and hop into his car, and we would drive around. I got into his car, and we drove up to a park where there was a bunch of trucks, lights, and trailers. This was the place. We parked out front of a trailer, with the sign “Pumpco” on it. Chris went inside, and talked to the owner, and he said we will come back in around 6am. Maria, our contact, wasn’t there yet.
When 6 am arrived, we went inside and got set up. While we were getting set up, Maria came in and greeted us, and started passing out forms that the men were going to give us, when they came into the office to get BAT tested. It was kind of cool. There were 15 men in total. I went down the line and started taking their names, and their social security numbers. I kept everything organized and in order. I was proud of myself.
After collecting names and socials, I went into the office and helped Chris stick the stickers on the forms with the results on them. It was an intense day, and it was an early day.
When we were finished, and getting ready to pack up. Maria asked if we had time for one more. Chris said, I could leave if I wanted to, I didn’t have to wait for one more, so I did. I drove to my parents’ house and took a nap on the couch, before going back to the office at 9am.
On my way back to the office, I stopped and got Starbucks. Dave, my parents’ handy man was there. He bought me my drink, we chatted for a bit, then it was back to the office. I was so tired. When I got back to the office, Chris was ready to go, and talked to me about this morning, and how well it went. I just was so out of it. I knew I was going to be pretty much useless all day. Earl came in, and we told him how we were up at Burgettstown doing an onsite, this morning. We had to be there at 5:45AM. I just sat there, sipping my coffee trying so hard to stay awake. Chris said, she is all tired now. Earl said, well you have to remember, she is not used to that. I said, Yeah Chris take that! I did some cold calling, organizing, before Chris left to go sell. He wanted to drive around and visit some companies. He also stopped and got taco bell on the way back for us. I did not want to do any work at all. I was so beat.
After work, I went home and waited for Drew to come. I fell asleep on the couch. I woke up when he came in the door. We had to get ready to go to the cafe for his mom’s birthday dinner. On the way to the cafe, we stopped at Giant Eagle and picked up a card for his mom, and for his dad. We never got his dad a birthday card, back in March. We bought a little balloon too for his mom.
Once we got to the cafe, everyone was happy to see us as usual. We sat our high top table. My favorite waitress Leah, waited on us. When his parents came, she brought over an unopened chilled bottle of Crown Apple for his mom’s birthday gift. They are so good to us there. Brett talked to us about having my 30th Birthday there in the back room. I can have it all to myself, and my party. I was pretty happy about that idea. I need a good dirty thirty!
After dinner, we went home and went to bed. We were so tired, me especially. His mom and dad were happy with their cards. It was a good night, but I was so thankful to finally go to sleep that night.
