This morning I had a dentist appointment, and I was so glad that I got to sleep in a little bit longer. The past couple nights I have been sleeping with my Fitbit on and setting the silent alarm. It will vibrate, until I wake up. I love it. I like it so much better than the alarm on my phone. I think it is a nicer way to wake up, instead of just a crazy alarm sound.
After I got a shower and got dressed. I packed up my stuff, and grabbed some pizza out of the fridge. I was a little apprehensive about my Dentist appointment this morning, and then having to go to work after. I was hoping maybe the day would fly by. When I left teh house, I called my mom and talked to her for a bit. When I arrived to the Dentist, I was 10 mins early. I put on a little make up, once I parked the car, then I walked inside.
After about 5 mins, they called me back. I sat in the chair, and she put a bib on me. Then I told her about my enamel and how it chipped a little. It is somewhat noticeable and perhaps they could put some bonding on, like my other dentist used to do. He would do without question. She said, that I would have to make another appointment for that. I miss old dentist so much. He never submitted it, he just did it. I guess we were like family to him.
After my cleaning, the Dentist came in and he checked my mouth and told me that everything looks good, and that he could put some bonding in there during my next appointment. He also wanted me to schedule a consult for MTM to see if I am a candidate for that. MTM is a cheaper solution to 6 month smiles. I thought about 6 month smiles, but it is so much money, and I just feel like braces are not an option for me. My teeth are somewhat straight. I just have a little crowding in the front on the bottom. I think this Dentist wishes I could lay golden egg for him.
After my appointment, I went to Peace Love and Little Donuts. I bought 3 donuts; flinstone, chocolate chip one, and a razzle dazzle. I knew Drew would probably want the Chocolate Chip one, but he wanted the Pitt Panther. I guess the only Pitt Panther they knew about was a cake donut with blue and gold sprinkles. I thought it was something to do with chocolate, so I knew Drew probably wouldn’t want it (I ended up getting the wrong one. He wanted the sprinkles, which was surprising.) I also purchased a caramel latte with fat free milk. I haven’t had my coffee yet.
Once I got to the bus stop in Robinson, I ate my razzle dazzle donut, and then asked Drew when the next bus was coming, because the app never works for me. He says that one just drove by while I was on my way, and it might be better to drive in, so I went back to the car and got gas in Greentree. He said, if we are on the way home and get stuck in traffic, it might be cutting it pretty close on only a quarter tank. I texted Phyllis and told her I was driving in.
After I got on the parkway, I was bumper to bumper before the tunnels, but smooth sailing to Oakland. I parked in Sennott Square, and then walked into my building. Drew was going to come to my building to get his donut that I got for him at lunch time. Phyllis saw my box of donuts and I asked if she wanted one. She said, “Yea who wouldn’t pass up donuts?!” I said, “True.” I grabbed the box and showed her the two that I had in there. She picked the chocolate one. I knew it!
When I got back to my office, I told Drew. He said, he was okay it didn’t matter. I said I figured since she let me go to the appointment and I was kind of late getting back here. He understood. I am glad he is so chill. When he came by, I gave him the donut and then we talked for a bit. I introduced him to Linda. It was nice.
When he left, I was hoping the day would fly by. I heated up my pizza and ate it, now I am not sure what is going on. I am ready for the day to be over. It is not all that eventful around here yet. I am ready to go home. Tonight, we are going to the cafe with his parents for the Preseason Steelers’ Game. I am so excited to just drink some beer and chill.

Dentist & Hair Appt

This morning I got up around 7:30am and got a shower, got dressed, and went to the dentist.  I had this slight pain in my tooth where the crown is. I had a root Canal there, so it is hard to believe I have pain. I hope it’s nothing, but we will see.

When I arrived to the dentist, Donna was so happy to see me. I told her about my position at Pitt, and she was excited for me. She asked, so does this mean that we are going to make your 6 month smiles appointment. I said, “I am not sure about that right now. We have to get our finances together.” Always looking for a way to get money out of me.

When Dr. Barber examined my mouth, he didn’t find anything wrong. He drilled down the bite a little, and said perhaps I was grinding my teeth in my sleep, and aggravated my teeth making them sore. Perhaps, but I am still a bit uncomfortable. We will see if it doesn’t clear up, I may make an appointment with the people who did my root canal.

After the dentist, I went to my parents to see my dogs, before my hair appointment. I didn’t want to go back home and have to come back out again. I sat with them for awhile and had a bowl of cereal.

Around 15 mins to 11am, I went to my hair appointment. I wanted to do something a bit different, but professional. I had a big interview tomorrow. I wasnt sure I wanted to be bright light blonde.

When I got to my hair salon, I told her what I was thinking and she said, that I was going to hate the gold at the roots. It would be hard to like. I agreed with her gold can be funny. She pulled out her color swatch and we decided on a darker blonde at the root, and keep the light blonde. I was so nervous. It turned out way better than I thought it would. I am super happy with it.

After my hair was done, I hung out with Leanne and Maci. I refreshed my e-mail, and noticed Linda from social sciences responded back to my e-mail. I had emailed her trying to follow up with her about the position, that I interviewed for with her and her team. She wanted to know if I was still interested, and if so she was going to reach out to my references. I went outside to call her and when she picked up I asked if she had a few minutes, and she did.

Over the phone, I told her about heinz chapel, what Pat said about one of my references not being in my favor and how I may have rubbed elbows with someone the wrong way, and that I have learned from it, and how is didn’t want that to interfere with my chances. She understood and was glad I was honest. We talked about my references, and she confirmed them. She explained to me that after, she talks to my references she will give me a call about the next step in the process, and if they are moving forward with me or not. I was happy to still have a chance, but I won’t be settled until I get an offer!

After I got off the phone, I painted my nails and toes and did Maci’s nails and toes. Then I went home. There is only so much negativity I can hear from Leanne. I love her, but small doses.

When I got home, I put a load of laundry in the washer, and talked to my mom. She was on her way over. We were going to Dunkin’ for coffee, then she was coming over to visit. I told her about the opportunities with Pitt and she was so happy for me. We talked about her golf outing, and I started dinner for Drew and I.

When my mom left, I worked on my blog, and waited for Drew to come. We had a nice evening together, a good dinner, and some all in the family. Now it’s time for bed.

Permanent Crown

Today, Dave came over and dropped off some materials for the deck. He was going to start tomorrow. I offered to help him. What else was I going to do? I was pretty bored. I helped carry some of the wood on to the deck, then he left.

Shortly after Dave left, I went to my dentist appointment. My permanent crown was ready. They had to send it back to the lab to make it whiter. The color was off a bit. My appointment was at 3:20pm. It took an hour.

After the dentist, I went home and got dinner ready.

Dentist for Temporary Crown

Today, I had the appointment at the Dentist for my temporary crown placement. I was hoping it wasn’t going to hurt. I have had enough dental pain for awhile! I got up around 9am got a shower, and then ate some yogurt and made some coffee.  I left the house at 11:30am. After the dentist, I planned to hang out with Leanne. I didn’t get in the dental chair until 12:00pm. It took an hour and a half! I was out of there at 1:30pm. I texted Leanne that I was on my way. She and I talked on the phone, until I got to the shop.

When I arrived at the salon, Maci ran into my arms and I lifted her up. I was so happy to see her. I love my little Maci bear. I turned the wax on so Leanne could wax my eyebrows. I really needed them done. Leanne, Maci, and I counted her shopkins. She has over 500 shopkins! She loves to play with them and separate them. She is getting so big though, and she is starting to be a little adult and knows a bit too much about the drama that goes on in Leanne’s circle, which is not a good thing.

When I left the shop, it was around 3pm. I have to go home and make dinner. I am not even sure what I am going to make. Drew texted me and told me that he was busy today, and may have to do some documentation when he gets home. I said, that is okay, because I don’t really have a dinner plan anyway. The bachelor is on tonight. I am going to watch that. I can’t wait to hear from Pitt’s social work department.

When Drew got home, he didn’t have to do documentation, which meant I get him all to myself, however I didn’t have any dinner ready. I wasn’t home all day, so we threw some French bread pizza in the toaster oven, and that was going to have to do it.

After dinner, we watched the Bachelor. It was hometowns. No power in the world will make me stop watching this show. I love it. No matter how similar all the seasons are, I still will always watch this show. Drew finds it so predictable, and says nothing exciting ever happens. They pump you up to think something exciting happens, but it never does. After the Bachelor, we went to bed.
