Nails & Date night

This morning, I got up and had some coffee. I know I had to work on this paper, but I needed coffee first. After I got caffeinated, I went and got a shower, and then attempted to write my paper. I have only a paragraph. Drew went to the chiropractor, then he was going to get ready to go to the pinball tournament with his friends.
Around 12:30pm, I left to go get my nails done. Leanne texted me and asked me if I could come earlier, so I drove to Starbucks. I needed espresso. I can’t do without it anymore.
When I arrived to the salon, I said hi to everyone and took a seat in Leanne’s chair. My nails were lifting all over the place. I couldn’t wait to get them done. I had her round them some and when she finished they looked amazing! I chose light pink, instead of a design. I had one last week. My nails took an hour. Her mom told me that she got new bulbs in 2 of her beds. She told me to hop in and try them out. I was apprehensive. She said, 10 mins. I was excited actually, but I was nervous.
When I got in the tanning bed, it felt like old times. I was so ready to feel the warmth! I laid down and pulled down the lid. I thought I would forget how to do this, but not so much. I did take a nap. I feel asleep, and when the bed shut off, I woke up. I got out, got dressed, and then cleaned the bed. I painted my toes to match my nails, let them dry under the dryer, and then stopped at my parents.
When I arrived at my parents, I picked up the things they bought for me; pepper spray, and an eyebrow liner pencil. It is called miracle brow. It is universal and blends to any color eye brow you are! I love it. It has easily replaced my Chanel eyebrow liner. My mom and I are baffled how it works.
When I arrived home, Drew was home he gave me a hug and a kiss. His pinball tournament got cancelled, so he said they were going to go to the movies, but he wanted to spend the evening with me. I was glad. He went to the gym, while I was out and about. He got a shower, and I got changed for dinner. We were going to the same Mexican restaurant that we went to for Mike’s birthday, plaza Azteca.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we got seated right away in a cute little booth.  We ordered Corona Lights and Guacamole to start off. Then I ordered two mushroom quesadillas. Drew had the burrito deluxe. It was a nice date.
When we got home, we got changed into comfy clothes and watched Fifty Shades Freed. I loved it. I will miss this series. Christian Grey is so hot! Drew laughed a little. Christian Grey is so intense. Jamie Dornan was a good cast for that role. After the movie, he packed up a few last minute things. I will miss him while he is away. 😦

Learning Experiences

Learning this position, has been so hard. Unfortunately, there isn’t any formal training. It’s a learn as you go type of thing. I think learning experiences are bittersweet. Learning a job is never easy, and it’s full of growing pains, and sometimes the people don’t always make learning the job easy and fun, but it’s all necessary.
Academic Learning has always been fun for me, and academic learning had it’s  challenging parts too.  I have always enjoyed academic learning, even the challenging parts. They help shape you. I guess the same good be said for Occupational Learning.
Although, when the excitement of the job offer wears off, and you are left to actually learn the position the ins and outs, the processes, the policies, the chain of command, who does what and where; it’s taxing physically (tired at the end of the day, which leads me not wanting to go the gym), mentally, and emotionally. Sometimes in addition to learning the job, you have people surrounding you that you may work closely with on a project, that don’t remember what it was to be new and to learn a new position. They were just born intellectually superior, and better than you. Those people suck, but at the same time maybe instead of being mad at them, I should look at them like they are going to provide me with a different kind of Learning Experience. Maybe I should see them as a way to learn how to deal with difficult people in life?
Learning Experiences, ugh. I just wish that I could fast forward to just Knowing how to do certain tasks, and knowing how to do my job, instead of “learning” how to do it. I know that comes with time, it’s just hard to accept and sometimes hard for me to grasp, and “Deal with.” I deal with things differently than most (Don’t we all?). I tend to really get in my head and excessively worry about things, and always think of the negative first. I don’t know why I always do. It’s just how I am programmed and I have never changed my way of thinking, and really put the effort behind it. I always find that in the end the outcome is never really all that negative, it is positive, but sometimes may not be the type of positive that I envisioned.
All the content mentioned above has been my whole week. It has not been an easy week for me at all, but it is Friday, and that means at 4:30pm today this week is over, but I know I have learned more this week about my position and the people that I work closely with sometimes, and I now know what to do moving forward about theses issues and I have people, who are in my corner and protecting me, because they know that I m new and deserve a chance to learn and grow, which is so refreshing.
For the rest of the day today, I am trying to map out my plan of attack for next week. I am here for the whole day on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On Thursday, we get to leave early. I am not sure what time we get to leave, but early is good for me. This evening, Drew and I are going to dinner at Red Robin, and we probably should do some Christmas shopping. We haven’t even started yet.
As for Christmas break, I am ready to just relax and enjoy my time off. I know there will be more chaos and things to “learn” come January, so I will need to be ready. I want to be refreshed and ready to go. Then I start Grad School shortly after break. I am going to be so busy. I will be okay. I know I will be, just have to go through the “Learning Experiences..”

Sushi Date Night

After we picked up my car in Crafton, we went home and got ready to go to dinner. We wanted to go out to eat, but just weren’t sure were. We decided on sushi. There is this little place in Sewickley, called Slippery Mermaid. We took my mom there last mother’s day, and we have been there once before on a date, and it is so good!
When we got home, I got freshened up and put a dress on and some heels. I wanted to feel like a lady. He changed his clothes as well, and then we were out the door. The wait was about 45-mins, so we stood at the bar in hopes that someone would leave and we could just eat at the bar. It was so nice to get out and go on a date together. I feel like it is been awhile, since we did this.
Right before we went to order our second drink, the hostess called our name and our table was ready! When we were seated, I set my purse on the table and went to the rest room. I came back to the table, and Drew was talking to the couple at the table behind us, and I turned to see who he was talking to and it was a kid I went to grade school with. He was there with his wife, mother-in-law, and baby. I said, Hi to Kevin. It has been a long time since I saw him. I introduced myself to his wife, and said hi to his mother-in-law. His son Carter, who I think is 2. He is adorable. He came right up to me and sat on my lap. I love little kids, but I also like when I can give them back. We all talked for awhile, then when they left we ordered another drink, and some edamame beans to start.
When we placed our sushi order, we decided to split three rolls. Then as we started eating the sushi, we realized we could probably do one more roll. We got another roll and split it. We weren’t disgustingly full, but definitely satisfied, that is the thing about sushi. I feel like if we had one more roll, we would have been disgustingly full. When we got home, we changed and watched All in the Family. We were in bed by 10pm.

Rainy Day

This morning, we were slow to get up. It was going to be a rainy day today, so we just planned to lay low. I made pancakes for breakfast, and we watched some more all in the family. We didn’t really have anything planned today. We decided to get out for a bit, so we went to Target to buy two lamps, and get some more ideas to help improve our little town home. We seem to agree on the same things, when it comes to how we want to decorate.

After Target we went to the mall, we put a payment on the ring that I want for my right hand. I am so spoiled. I want diamonds on both hands. I can’t wait to get it. Rudy, the jeweler inspected my wedding rings, and he said, I needed a rhodium dip. I just got one done before we got married, but I guess you have to do it every couple years, so the white gold rings, don’t turn yellow. He asked us to drop it off on Tuesday, before we got a July 4th cookout. We will add that to our to-do list.

After we left the jewelry store, we stopped at this new store called the Home Collection. Their store is in the same space as Abercrombie and Fitch. We decided to check it out. The mall needed a home sore. When we walked in, you could still smell the Fierce cologne. The store was nice. A lot of high end furniture. The decor was really girly. I liked it, but it still looked like Abercrombie.

After the mall, we went to Chik-fil-a. I never saw that place so busy before. We were lucky to get a booth, so I grabbed us a seat and Drew ordered our food. They brought it to you, when it was ready, so you didn’t have stand at the counter and wait for it. After we finished eating, we left and went home. I think we had enough errands today. I could go to Walmart later on in the week. We could grocery shop tomorrow, as well.

When we got home, we laid around and watched television. We decided to take an hour nap. When we woke up, we got ready to go to dinner. We were going to the Industry Pub to celebrate my new position. I put on a dress, and some heels for dinner. It felt good to get all dressed up.

When we arrived at the Industry Pub, we were seated by the windows, and it seemed to be like the old people section. We felt so old. We wanted to be where the bar was, so we asked to move, and they were happy to accommodate us. They moved us to a high top table, by the bar. Now we felt like we were part of the party. Drew started out with a smoked whiskey, and he congratulated me on my position. I had a Magic Hat #9. I had two Magic Hats. Drew had a magic hat, as well, then a crown reserve, and lastly a Yuengling. We were there to celebrate. After two magic hats, I knew I had enough. For an appetizer we split this huge pretzel.

We took some home with us, and for dinner I had a chicken salad and he had a sandwich with fries. We took most of dinner home.

When we got home, we watched Wonder Woman. It was so good. It was the ultimate Girl Power movie. I was sad when her love interest died. Before we sat down to watch it, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like it or not. I am weird about Super hero movies, but this one was awesome! I loved it. She was so sassy and feisty. She was a bit naive at first thinking if she defeated the God of War, Ares, then she would defeat all evil in the world and there would be no war. She soon learned, that it was choice inside all humans, whether or not to be good or evil. One cannot destroy all the evil in the world. I loved it. I just loved it. It was going to take me forever to fall asleep. I was so pumped. Wonder Woman had me so excited.

2 Weddings and a Date Night

Today, I arrived at the chapel at 10:15AM. I was to follow Frank and help him with whatever and shadow him. I stayed for the two weddings. He had so much to keep track of. The one wedding had 15 people on either side. I wondered if I was ever going to get the hang of it, and know what exactly to do. I am so afraid to make a mistake, when I become primary.
After the two weddings, I was able to go home. I was so hungry. When I arrived home, Drew had the house looking so nice, and he was so happy to see me. We decided to get dressed up and go on a date, then we would go to Wal-Mart and get what we needed to make Father’s Day dinner happen.
We decided to go to dinner at Longhorn. We had some gift cards to use, and we still needed to use them. When we arrived, we were able to get seated right away. I felt like we were an old couple going to dinner early at like 5pm. It was funny. I had a little steak, potato with everything on it, and a salad. Drew had a steak, fries, and salad. During dinner, we chatted about my work schedule, and how proud he is of me sticking out and doing what I have to do. Its so hard working on weekends, but it is what it is. I miss my time with Drew and the pool!
After dinner, we went to the mall and got my dad his gift, and then we went to wal-mart and picked up the rest of the food we needed, and then it was home to relax and watch some more episodes of All in the Family.
